I like the idea that it is very portable, and provides for the ability to access it quickly when needed instead of getting the fire extinguisher. Based on the instructions provided on the package, it appears to be very easy to use. I also like that this can be reused. The packaging is good quality. For peace of mind and preparedness, every household should have at least 2 of these.

I tend to be overly prepared for accidents and things, “just in case”. This was one of those things. I have fire extinguishers in the house, and the RV, but thought this makes sense to have, versus making a bigger mess, if the fire size could be handled. Hung it up in the pantry, so it’s easy to get to, it’s a security thing, insurance just in case stuff happens. Why would you not have this.

I bought this blanket in May 2020 and hung it in my kitchen pantry. On Christmas night 2023, I made my first-ever prime rib. I was broiling it to finish it, and it caught fire. Turning off the oven did not eliminate the fire. At first, I didn’t know what to do, and then I remembered my fire blanket! I grabbed it off the hook in the pantry, opened it up and smothered the fire. The blanket worked great! I would rather replace the blanket than try to wash it and jeopardize its future effectiveness, so I came back to buy it again and thought I would report in the reviews that it worked great! I did not feel any effects of touching the blanket – I did not feel heat or discomfort from any fiberglass fibers that is reported in some reviews. Great buy!
